I have noticed a fair amount of questions about the quality of Stern and ADR wheels. As I think everyone knows by now, Golden Apple makes both. However, there are noticeable differences. From what I was told by the local tire store, the ARD's are powder coated which is why they refer to them as a HMC finish and not chrome. The Stern's are chrome. You can see that the ADR is not as "bright" of a shine as the Stern but they are pretty close. I had the ADR's on the car for 2 years with no problems in pitting or pealing. There are some minor factory blemishes in the finish though, they are not perfect. You can even see in the first photo what looks like a bit of orange peel texture in the lip of the rim. The reason I ended up with the Stern's is because the tire store gouged two of the ADR's and they could no longer get them in the HMC finish so they bought me a whole new set of Stern's. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
